Introducing Redefining Normal

Welcome to Redefining Normal.

This class was originally featured in Made 2014, an online journaling course.  It was also featured on the His Kingdom Come website.

Class Description:
Using a Brené Brown quote: 'grief is the absence of normal' as a starting point we will explore the things that naturally occur in life - children leaving home, parents dying, job events, retirement - the things that happen to almost all of us. We will investigate what is our normal and how we deal with a new normal.

An optional activity will be to look at people in the Bible and how they reacted to their new normal.

Creative Activity:
We will be making an accordion (zigzag) book and using maps, stamps and photographs to illustrate our journey through these events and finding relevant encouraging scriptures. We will also be making our own embellishments.   This short video is part of the class. To find the class please click on the tabs above

Supplies:
old maps
watercolour paper
paper punches
rubber stamps
pens (waterproof is best)
notebook or paper
chipboard or thick card (cereal packets would be good!)
glue/gel medium

Depending on how you interpret the creative activity you may want to use: inks (spray/stamp), stencils, acrylic paints, watercolour paint or pencils

I don't like to specify products that you should use as I prefer people to use the products they own. Please make your responses to the creative activity personal to you. You may prefer to do journal pages rather than the zigzag book. Please respond creatively in the way that suits you.

Please click on the My Story tab at the top of the page.

Please join the private Facebook group where you can make comments, ask questions, share your story and show us your zigzag book or journal pages.   If you are not on Facebook and wish to ask a question please email me.
